Paul Wurth Real Estate - Developper in Luxembourg-Hollerich

Paul Wurth, one of the leading European industrial engineering firms, has been based in Luxembourg’s Hollerich area since 1870 and has developed over time to become an international business.

In 2021, Paul Wurth Real Estate S.A. (PWRE) was created following a partial demerger of Paul Wurth S.A. On that date, Paul Wurth’s real estate assets were transferred to PWRE.

PWRE acts as the project developer for the brownfield conversion in the centre of Luxembourg, aiming to reactivate land that was used for industrial purposes for over 150 years and to transform it into an innovative, modern urban quarter.

PWRE is positioned as a strong partner for land conversion and the development of building plots in central Luxembourg.

Origins

PWRE now owns a significant real estate holding of approximately 11 hectares that is included in two district development plans (PAP): PAP Nei Hollerich and PAP Rue Wenceslas I. PWRE acts as the project developer for the brownfield conversion in the centre of Luxembourg, aiming to reactivate land that was used for industrial purposes for over 150 years and to transform it into an innovative, modern urban quarter.

“Historical” works - principally maintenance (clearing) and site preparation (demolition and decontamination) - represent the initial steps in servicing the construction plots. Since 2017, PW and PWRE have been continuously engaged in redefining the site’s layout and preparing it for redevelopment. Further steps to create a liveable residential and working environment will be carried out in the coming years: partly in collaboration with the partners of the GIE Nei Hollerich and partly by PWRE alone within the Rue Wenceslas I project.
